Marine Trader 34′ Double Cabin “Tioga” 1978

“TIOGA”, ex-“LADY JANE” is a 1978 Marine Trader 34DC, purchased by us 9/05 near Albany, NY; we had decided to ‘retire’ from sailing. It was in fairly rough shape, having been most recently owned by a first-time boater. After some urgent repairs, we had her delivered to her new home in Oxford, MD by a prof crew…approx 450nm. After only a few weeks, we hauled her out for a major do-it-your-self rehab. 3 years later, we’re still working on her on land…but it’s become clear that other events in our lives preclude the long-distance cruising which we had planned to enjoy in her. We have downsized to a 23′ diesel trawler. So we are reluctantly putting her up for sale. But thanks to the extraordinary talents and generosity of Steve Sharp (‘Sharpy’) of Maui and Sequoia fame, TIOGA will sail on in VS! The textures used are all derived from photos of the boat, so she is truly ‘ photorealistic”. And she is what she is; I would ask that users NOT change her. If they DO change her, change the NAME also, as it’s no longer an accurate “TIOGA”! Why “TIOGA”? It’s Native American for ‘Beautiful Wife’…and my beautiful wife thought it an apt and fitting name for ‘the other woman’! Sailorjohn
